The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a suspect, Abubakar Musa, in connection with the alleged murder of 30-year-old Nathaniel Yusuf in Jambutu Ward, Yola North Local Government Area.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the arrest followed a report lodged at the Kofare Divisional Police Headquarters by the deceased’s sister, Grace Yusuf.
Nguroje said police officers responded promptly to the distress call, rescued the victim from the scene and rushed him to the Specialist Hospital, Jimeta, for emergency treatment, while the suspect was arrested at the scene.
Preliminary investigations, the police disclosed, revealed that Yusuf sustained severe injuries, including fractures to both legs, his right hand and head, after he was allegedly assaulted with a stick by the suspect.

Despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life, he was later confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
Following the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Kabiru Hassan, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yola, to take over the case to ensure a thorough investigation and diligent prosecution of the suspect in accordance with the law.
Police said the deceased’s body has been deposited at the hospital for an autopsy, while investigations into the incident continue.
The Adamawa State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and urged residents to remain law-abiding and continue providing credible information to assist ongoing investigations.
