Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has revealed his picks for the five best footballers in the world, naming three France attackers among his top selections.
Speaking as a Fox Sports pundit after France’s 3-0 victory over Sweden in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Ibrahimovic said Ousmane Dembele, Kylian Mbappe, Michael Olise, Lamine Yamal, and Erling Haaland are currently the standout players in world football.
According to the former Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United forward, France’s attacking trio of Dembele, Mbappe and Olise are among the finest talents in the game today.

“Take the five best players in the world. Three of them are on France’s attack – Dembele, Olise and Mbappe,” Ibrahimovic said after France secured a place in the Round of 16.
He completed his list with Spain youngster Lamine Yamal and Norway striker Erling Haaland.
Ibrahimovic also singled out Lionel Messi for special praise, saying the Argentine legend remains in a class of his own despite not including him in the current top-five ranking.
“Yamal and Haaland. Messi is in his own class. But three of the top five are in this attack. It’s not easy to make that combination,” he added.
