The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a suspected kidnapper in connection with the abduction of three persons in Hullere Gwalamba, Yola North Local Government Area of the state.

The suspect, identified as Alhaji Adamu Yahaya of Hosere Jambutu in Yola North LGA, was apprehended following an intelligence-led operation by the Command.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the case was reported to the State Intelligence Department (SID) on June 16, 2026, by Samaila Musa, a resident of Hullere Gwalamba.
Musa informed police authorities that three of his sons — Adamu Samaila Sultan, 24; Bilal Abdurrahman, 8; and Ya’u Sani Baba Iyali, 10 — were kidnapped on June 12, 2026, and taken to an unknown location.

The complainant further disclosed that the kidnappers later contacted the family and demanded a ransom for the victims’ release.
Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, directed operatives to launch a discreet investigation while deploying intelligence and technical resources to track down those responsible.
The police said the swift operation led to the arrest of one suspect, who is currently assisting investigators with useful information that could facilitate the arrest of other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
“The suspect is providing useful information that will assist in the arrest of other members of the kidnapping syndicate,” the statement noted.
The Command added that investigations are ongoing and that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
Police authorities assured the public that further details would be made available as the investigation progresses.
