The National Examinations Council (NECO) has warned the public against fraudulent and fake online platforms claiming to recruit examination supervisors for the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).

Key Highlights:

  • National Examinations Council warned the public against fake SSCE supervisor recruitment portals.
  • Fraudulent websites are requesting credentials and payments from applicants.
  • NECO said it does not charge any fee for supervisor recruitment.
  • Only teachers on Grade Level 12+, aged 30 and above, are eligible for 2026 SSCE supervision.
  • Applications must be submitted only through NECO’s official portal: NECO Supervisor Portal.

In a statement issued on its official X account on Wednesday, the examination body disclosed that some fake portals are requesting applicants to upload academic credentials and make payments as part of the recruitment process.

NECO stressed that such platforms are unauthorized and have no affiliation with the Council.

The council clarified that it does not charge any fee for teachers seeking to serve as examination supervisors and urged prospective applicants to disregard any website or individual demanding payment for recruitment.

According to NECO, the warning has become necessary following reports of fraudulent activities targeting unsuspecting applicants.

The council reiterated that as part of ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing the quality and credibility of examinations, it has migrated from an analogue recruitment system to a fully electronic process.

NECO further explained that only qualified pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above who are at least 30 years old are eligible to apply as supervisors for the 2026 SSCE internal examination.

The council noted that all applications must be submitted exclusively through its official recruitment portal ( https://supervisor.neco.gov.ng /), emphasizing that the process is entirely automated and does not involve any third-party agents or intermediaries.

NECO therefore urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious websites, links, or individuals purporting to recruit supervisors on its behalf.

It reaffirmed its commitment to upholding transparency, integrity, and professionalism in the administration of examinations across the country.
