  • Economic and Sporting Impact: Organizers expect the championship to promote regional cooperation, showcase top beach volleyball talent, and increase the profile of the sport in West Africa.

The prestigious championship, sanctioned by the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), will bring together elite athletes from across the region in a highly anticipated competition that aims to promote sporting excellence, regional cooperation, and the growth of beach volleyball in Africa.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman of the Media Committee of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation Godspower Odedede on Wednesday, participating countries are expected to include Benin Republic, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Niger Republic, Togo, and host nation Nigeria.

The tournament is expected to serve as a crucial qualification pathway for teams seeking to advance in continental beach volleyball competitions, while also providing a platform for athletes to showcase their skills on a larger stage.

Speaking on the significance of the event, the NVBF said hosting the championship underscores Nigeria’s growing status as a preferred destination for major volleyball tournaments and reflects the federation’s commitment to developing the sport both locally and across the continent.

Badagry, renowned for its picturesque coastline and historical significance, has been selected as the host venue.

Organizers believe the coastal town will provide an ideal setting for the championship while offering athletes, officials, and visiting fans a unique cultural and sporting experience.
