In a statement issued on Monday, the NDC Vice Presidential Candidate and former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, said the party had no intention of organising any protest and called on members of the public to ignore the message currently being circulated online.
Kwankwaso stressed that the NDC remains committed to lawful and peaceful methods of addressing national challenges and would not support any action capable of disrupting public order or endangering lives and property.

According to him, the party believes democratic institutions and electoral processes provide the most effective avenue for citizens to express concerns and pursue political change.
He maintained that the NDC is focused on securing victory in the forthcoming elections through peaceful and democratic means rather than engaging in street protests.
The party also cautioned against the spread of false information, urging Nigerians to be vigilant and disregard individuals promoting disinformation on social media.
The statement reads:
“Our attention has been drawn to a message currently circulating on social media falsely claiming that we are planning a protest over the rising insecurity in the country.
“We do not support any action that could lead to the breakdown of public order or the destruction of lives and property. As responsible leaders, we remain committed to peaceful and constructive approaches in addressing national challenges.
“As committed democrats, we firmly believe that the ballot box remains the most legitimate and effective way to express grievances and seek change. Our party, the NDC, is confident of securing a resounding victory in the upcoming elections through peaceful democratic means.
“The general public is therefore advised to disregard the false message and ignore those peddling such disinformation.”
The clarification comes amid growing national concern over Nigeria insecurity, following the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State three weeks ago, an incident that has continued to generate widespread public reaction and renewed calls for improved security measures across the country.
Political observers say security concerns are likely to remain a major issue ahead of the 2027 general elections as citizens continue to demand stronger action from government authorities to tackle kidnapping, banditry, and other security threats.
