Founded with a mission to address the high costs, delays, and lack of transparency traditionally associated with international remittances, PayAngel offers fee-free transfers, competitive foreign exchange rates, and reliable settlement services.
The fintech platform currently facilitates payments across 22 African countries, as well as India and Bangladesh, serving both individual customers and businesses.
In addition to consumer services, PayAngel provides a web-based business-to-business payments portal that enables collections, disbursements, and cross-border settlements without requiring companies to establish a local presence or undertake complex technology integrations.
By utilising Currencycloud’s regulated infrastructure, PayAngel aims to streamline settlement processes, improve operational efficiency, and expand its ability to deliver secure and transparent payment services globally.
According to the company, the collaboration aligns with its long-term strategy of building resilient payment infrastructure while maintaining customer trust and expanding access to global financial services.
“Access to dependable, well-governed payment rails is essential to supporting globally connected communities,” said Jones Amegbor, Chief Executive Officer of PayAngel.
“This collaboration strengthens the infrastructure behind our platform, helping us deliver faster and more efficient cross-border payments while staying focused on the human connections those payments represent,” he added.
Philip Konopik, Senior Vice President and Head of CMS at Visa Europe, said the partnership demonstrates Visa’s commitment to improving global money movement.
Visa Direct is focused on enabling secure, seamless money movement across the global payments ecosystem,” Konopik said.
“It’s fantastic to be collaborating with fintechs such as PayAngel to help supercharge innovation that improves how money moves for consumers and businesses worldwide.”
The expanded collaboration is expected to position PayAngel for further growth as demand for reliable and cost-effective international payment solutions continues to increase across emerging and developed markets.
