Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as Binani, has emerged as the sole governorship candidate of the NDC party for the 2027 Adamawa State governorship election following a consensus arrangement among party aspirants.

With the development, Binani becomes the official flagbearer of the NDC in Adamawa State and is expected to face stiff competition from candidates of other political parties during the election.
Reports indicate that no fewer than seven male candidates are currently being projected to contest the governorship seat under different political platforms.
