An applicant to the University of Lagos has emerged as the highest scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), according to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
The announcement was made during JAMB’s 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja on Monday.

- The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announced that Owoeye Jesudunsin, an Ekiti State indigene, emerged the highest scorer in the 2026 UTME with 372 out of 400.
- The announcement was made during the 2026 JAMB Policy Meeting on Admissions held in Abuja by Registrar Ishaq Oloyede.
- Jesudunsin, who sat for the exam in Ogun State, applied to study Medicine and Surgery at the University of Lagos.
- Ikenna Enwere from Imo State came second with 370 points and applied to study Computer Science at Nile University.
- Ayomide Bamisile from Ondo State scored 369 points and applied to study Software Engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed that Owoeye Jesudunsin, an indigene of Ekiti State who sat for the examination in Ogun State, recorded the highest score of 372 out of a possible 400.
Jesudunsin applied to study nedicine and surgery at the University of Lagos.

Her performance falls three points short of the 2025 highest UTME score of 375, achieved by Chinedu Okeke from Anambra State.
Coming second in the 2026 ranking is Ikenna Enwere from Imo State, who scored 370.
He selected Nile University as his first-choice institution and intends to study computer science.
Ayomide Bamisile from Ondo State followed closely with 369 points.
He applied to study software engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Akure.
JAMB released the list of top-performing candidates during the policy meeting as part of activities outlining the 2026 admission process into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
