The Adamawa State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and improving health outcomes across the state, with renewed focus on child immunisation and strategic partnerships in the health sector.
Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta gave the assurance while receiving officials of the Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN) during a courtesy visit to her office at the Government House in Yola.

Farauta stressed that the administration remains determined to ensure that every child in Adamawa State receives life-saving vaccines, describing immunisation as a basic right of every child.
She noted that the government would continue to intensify efforts aimed at eradicating vaccine-preventable diseases through sustained vaccination campaigns and targeted healthcare interventions.

“Government will ensure that every child is vaccinated in order to eradicate vaccine-preventable diseases in the state,” she said.
The deputy governor also emphasised the state government’s readiness to collaborate with organisations and institutions committed to improving the welfare of citizens, particularly in the healthcare sector.
“Adamawa State Government is ready to partner with organisations, especially those reaching out to its citizens,” she added.
Earlier, the Team Leader of the Christian Health Association of Nigeria, Dr. Suleiman Mshelia, explained that the association serves as the umbrella body for Christian and missionary hospitals across the country.
According to him, CHAN’s mandate includes advocating for missionary hospitals, strengthening their operational capacity, and ensuring compliance with government healthcare standards and regulations.
Mshelia disclosed that the association visited Adamawa State to recommission the Numan warehouse, originally established in 1989 but later rendered inactive due to organisational challenges.
He said the facility would now function as a major distribution hub for missionary hospitals within the region, adding that distribution operations had already commenced.
The CHAN official further stated that the association works closely with relevant government agencies to ensure effective healthcare service delivery nationwide.
He commended the administration of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for its achievements in healthcare and infrastructure development, while appealing for additional financial support to strengthen missionary hospitals in the state.
