The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has donated office equipment and medical support tools worth millions of naira to the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency to improve healthcare delivery across primary health centres in Adamawa State.

The donation included television sets, office stationery, and other essential working materials expected to enhance operations in primary healthcare facilities across the state’s 21 local government areas.

The intervention is part of efforts aimed at strengthening grassroots healthcare services, with primary healthcare centres serving as the first point of medical contact for many rural communities.

Receiving the items on behalf of the agency on Thursday, the Executive Chairman of ADSPHCDA, Sulaiman Saidu Bashir, expressed appreciation to IOM for the support, describing the intervention as timely and impactful.

According to him, the donated equipment will improve efficiency, healthcare quality, data management, and overall service delivery at primary healthcare facilities across the state.

“This donation directly improves our capacity to deliver sustainable and quality healthcare services to the people of Adamawa State,” Dr. Bashir said.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the IOM team lead described ADSPHCDA as a vital partner in humanitarian and public health interventions, especially at the community level.

The official noted that strengthening primary healthcare systems remains critical to building resilient communities and improving access to healthcare services for vulnerable populations.

“We recognise the agency’s central role in reaching grassroots communities. Strengthening primary healthcare is strengthening community resilience.

That is why IOM remains committed to supporting the agency with tools that improve service delivery,” the team lead stated.

According to officials, the donated items will be distributed to primary healthcare centres across all 21 local government areas of Adamawa State to support patient education, record keeping, staff productivity, and improve patients’ overall experience during visits.

The event concluded with a group photograph involving IOM officials and the management of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency, symbolising continued partnership in healthcare and humanitarian support initiatives.
