Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for establishing the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship in Bama, describing the initiative as a major milestone for educational growth and economic development in the North-East region.
Zulum gave the commendation in Abuja during a visit to the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, following the appointment of principal officers for the newly created institution.

The governor said the swift appointment of the university’s management team reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to expanding access to quality education in Borno State and other parts of the North-East.
He also commended the Minister of Education for facilitating the appointment process, noting that the development would fast-track the commencement of academic and administrative activities at the institution.
According to Zulum, the establishment of the university would play a strategic role in addressing educational gaps while promoting entrepreneurship, agricultural innovation and human capital development across the region.
“The establishment of the university and the appointment of its management team will significantly enhance educational development in Borno State and the North-East,” the governor stated.

He assured the Federal Government of the full cooperation of the Borno State Government and pledged the provision of necessary support to ensure the successful take-off of the institution.
Zulum further noted that the university would contribute meaningfully to economic growth by equipping young people with practical skills in agriculture, business development and entrepreneurship.
The Federal Government recently appointed Prof. Tijjani Kalli as Vice Chancellor of the institution, while Abba Kaka was named Registrar, Bashir Subaru as Bursar, and Aishatu Halilu as Librarian.
Governor Zulum was accompanied during the visit by a member of the House of Representatives, Engr. Bukar Talba, Chairman of the Borno State Social Investment Programme, Hon. Yuguda Vungas Saleh, and elder statesman, Alhaji Mamman Tubo.
