Written examination for police recruitment holds April 28–30, PSC warns against scams

The Police Service Commission, in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, has announced that the written examination for applicants seeking enlistment as police constables will hold from April 28 to April 30, 2026.

According to the commission, the exercise will take place simultaneously across designated centres in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Only candidates who successfully passed the physical and credentials screening stage are eligible to participate in the examination.

Affected applicants are required to print their examination invitation card by logging on to the official recruitment portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng starting Friday, April 24, 2026.

The document will contain each candidate’s specific date, time, and venue.

Requirements for the examination, that candidates are expected to appear with, include a pen, National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the NIMC (with clear photograph), printed examination invitation card, white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas shoes.

The commission reiterated that the entire recruitment process is free of charge and strongly warned applicants against fraudsters, job racketeers, and any form of financial inducement.

It stressed that anyone found engaging in recruitment scams or attempting to exploit candidates will face prosecution under the law.

The statement was signed by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs of the Police Service Commission.
