AFC Bournemouth extended their remarkable unbeaten run in the Premier League to 13 matches with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday.
The visitors took the lead in the 32nd minute when Marcus Tavernier bundled home from close range after a clever assist by Rayan Cherki. Bournemouth carried that advantage into the break, leaving the home fans frustrated.
Newcastle responded after halftime, with William Osula equalising in the 68th minute. His effort was initially ruled out for offside but awarded following a VAR review, lifting the mood inside the stadium.
However, just as Newcastle looked to build momentum, Bournemouth delivered the decisive blow late on. In the 85th minute, Adrien Truffert fired home his first goal for the club after a headed assist from Evanilson, sealing all three points for the visitors.

The result moves Bournemouth up to eighth place in the table, keeping their hopes of European qualification alive. It also marked a fitting performance for manager Andoni Iraola, who recently confirmed he will leave the club at the end of the season.
For Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, the defeat adds to mounting pressure, with his side now sitting 14th after another late collapse an all-too-familiar theme this season.
Bournemouth will look to continue their impressive form when they host Leeds United next, while Newcastle face a daunting trip to league leaders Arsenal.
