Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, Manchester United’s coveted summer target, has openly acknowledged his decision to decline the English giants’ offer.

Despite the Red Devils’ strong interest, Todibo, currently relishing his time at Nice in France, opted against an early move to a major club in his career.

Speaking with L’Equipe, the 23-year-old said, “I won’t deny that I considered the idea of joining a ‘top club’ to boost my chances of representing France,”

“However, there are also assurances when playing for Nice. I approached this differently than my previous career choices, with deeper, more thoughtful consideration. I wanted to make the right decision and remained composed,” Todibo added

He continued: “Reflection holds greater significance now than when I began. I’m waiting for a comprehensive project to be presented to me: What’s expected of me? Why am I joining? You shouldn’t enter a club blindly.

“I understand what I have at Nice. Why venture into the unknown? Therefore, clarity is crucial. My first transfer occurred when I was 18, and my thinking wasn’t as meticulous,” the Nice defender stated.
