Ahead of the 2023 general elections, four communities in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu state have banned the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), from carrying out political campaigns in their area.
The communities and towns of the four organisations, under the aegis of ‘ππ ππ§πππ πππ©π§ππ€π©ππ ππ€π§πͺπ’ (πππ), made this known in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Chief Emmanuel Onuabuchi and made available to newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday.
The leadership of the unions lamented that the communities in Nkanu East Local Government Area were abandoned since the past administration of PDP government in Enugu state.
The statement read in part: “Nkerefi, the largest town in Nkanu East has suffered a developmental setback over the years, the people of our land have been contributing to fixing our roads by ourselves

“Our people have been loyal to PDP for years but nothing to show for it, we have begged and tried to produce any elective position but the party’s hatred for Nkerefi has made them not to see able men in our land,
“If there is the word of equity in the PDP party a Nkerefi man should be the flag bearer for the governorship come 2023 because it’s the only way to practice the word of equity
“Comparing PDP and APC my people will choose APC and any other party because they have demonstrated love for my people more than the PDP, the little fixed kilometres of road within Nara and Nkerefi are being constructed by the federal government controlled by the APC, so why must we leave them and support those that didn’t value us,” he said.
