Delta 2023: Discrepancies mars Delta South senatorial result in Bomadi

The collation of the Senatorial result at the Independent National Electoral Commission, Bomadi office was not as free and transparent as that of the presidential which was very transparent before Party agents and newsmen who dully followed the entire collation process.

Trumpet reporter observed that the election which started on Saturday, February 25th, 2023, witnessed the return of various Units and Ward results from 5:00 PM till 4:30 PM of Sunday, February 26, 2023, there was a delay in the collation of the Senatorial and House of Representative result.

Journalists and some party agents were at some point prevented during the collation and recording of the results. While some youths were protesting outside the Bomadi INEC office.

Some party agents angrily stormed the office, demanding to look at the figures, they insisted that the collation shouldn’t have happened in their absence.

Before they were appealed to by one of the INEC officials, they fumed that the sheet reflected so many cancellations as they doubt the competency of the handlers.

The situation degenerated when a protest ensued, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer for the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency in the 2023 general elections, Rt. Hon Nicholas Mutu was trying to get into the Bomadi INEC office when some youths who feared that he was trying to get into the INEC office to manipulate the already concluded process.

On the other hand, some persons suspected to be supporters of the All Progressive Congress Candidate, Tam Oburumu were also fighting from the other end demanding that the results should be announced openly and immediately.
