In a significant move towards infrastructural development, Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, launched the commencement of three major road projects valued at over N10.9 billion in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council.
These ambitious projects aim to dualize roads, strategically addressing congestion and fostering broader development in the bustling Maiduguri Metropolis.
At a concise ceremony, Governor Zulum emphasized the government’s commitment to the timely execution of the projects, disclosing that 50% of the contract sum had already been disbursed to contractors as a mobilization incentive.
Governor Zulum set a clear directive for the contractors, urging them to complete the extensive work within the stipulated nine-month timeframe while strictly adhering to project specifications.
Despite the 50% payment, he revealed that the total project fund amounted to about N11 billion, ensuring prompt subsequent payments during the various stages of evaluation.
“In fulfilment of our electioneering campaign promise, we are here to flag off the construction of three major roads within Maiduguri Metropolitan Council worth about N11 billion,” stated Governor Zulum.

The head of Dan Nene Construction Company, entrusted with the project, assured Governor Zulum of delivering high-quality work within the designated nine-month timeframe.
