The 17 local government Chairmen in Yobe State have commended governor Mai Mala Buni, for implementing transformative projects that cut across all local government areas in the state.
Speaking at an event themed “governor Mai Mala Buni’s development stride: The Journey so far”, held in Damaturu, the council chairmen collectively praised the governor for what they described as inclusive and impactful governance.
The Chairman of Damaturu Local Government and the Yobe State Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Bukar Adamu, noted that Buni’s administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to equitable development.
He highlighted that sectors such as healthcare, road construction, agriculture, education, water supply, youth empowerment, and housing have all received attention in every LGA.
“Governor Mai Mala Buni has demonstrated uncommon commitment to equitable development in all the 17 LGAs. As council chairmen, we have seen first-hand how projects on health, roads, commerce, schools, water supply, agriculture and youth empowerment have reached every community,” Hon. Adamu said.

He added that the local governments now feel more integrated into the state’s development agenda, and pledged the continued support of the council chairmen to ensure effective implementation of government programmes at the grassroots.
Representing the governor at the event, Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana expressed appreciation for the collaboration between the state government and the local councils. He reiterated the administration’s resolve to maintain and expand developmental projects throughout the state.
“Our government will continue to consolidate on the gains recorded so far. We will keep spreading development projects equitably across all LGAs, with focus on healthcare, education, security, agriculture, job creation, and provision of basic infrastructure,” he said.
