The Nasarawa State Police Command has apprehended Hauwa Sani, a woman from Katsina State, for attempting to smuggle 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition concealed within a gallon of palm oil. Shockingly, she was traveling with a two-year-old child at the time of the arrest.
The arrest took place on Friday evening, following a tip-off that led police operatives from the Keffi Division to intercept Hauwa Sani. According to Ramhan Nansel, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, the suspect was caught with a Tecno mobile phone and a cash sum of ₦78,500 while en route to Katsina State.
The police report, shared via X.com, disclosed that the ammunition had been secretly supplied to the suspect in Rafin Sanyi village, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The suspect had concealed the deadly cargo in a gallon of palm oil, intending to transport it to Katsina before her plan was foiled.
