German national team coach Hansi Flick applauded the return of Timo Werner to the Bundesliga for RB Leipzig, on Tuesday, after he had joined Chelsea in 2020.
Flick said it is a welcome development for the Bundesliga and the player where he will be presented the opportunity to compete in the highest level of professional football.
According to the German gaffer, the 26-year-old striker possesses the qualities that pride him as an enrichment to every league.
Flick said, “I am very happy for the Bundesliga that Timo Werner is coming back.
“With his qualities, he is an enrichment for every league,” he exemplified Werner.
Timo Werner’s inclusion into the German national team raised speculations during the world cup qualifiers if could lead them to victory in Qatar later this year.
Despite the doubts, Flick has always reposed his confidence in Werner, who played a greater part of his senior career in the club to become the club’s highest goalscorer with 95 goals.

During his two years in Chelsea, Werner lifted the UEFA Champions League, Club World Cup and Super Cup but could not establish himself in the Blues’ starting lineup.
Failure to seal a starting spot under Thomas Tuchel having netted 23 goals in 89 appearances for the Blues, necessitated his resolve to return to the club in a deal worth €20m.
However, on completion of the move back to the Red Bull Arena to rediscover the old form that earned him a €53m club-record fee to London in 2020, the former VfB Stuttgart forward who first joined the club in 2016 could start his Bundesliga campaign against Cologne on Saturday.
Moreover, the club qualified for the UEFA Champions League and the German national team coach believes it will help remodel Werner while playing against top players.
Flick added, “With Leipzig, where he matured into an international top striker, Timo will continue to test himself in the Champions League against the best players around.”
The striker while playing for the German national team after he made his debut under Joachim Löw in 2017 against England, has earned 53 caps and scored 24 goals for Germany.
Chelsea also wish the German striker a farewell adding that “all at Chelsea thank Timo for his contribution to our success over the past two years and wish him well for his future career.”
