The Delta State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, is perfecting its victory strategies for the Delta State governorship election in 2023.

The state Chairman, Chief Omeni Sobotie, said this during an interactive session with journalists at his Asaba residence where he marked his birth anniversary, that the crisis in the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) was to the advantage of the APC.

He disclosed that more members of the PDP would soon be jumping ship to APC in the nearest future, describing the Dr Ifeanyi Okowa’s led administration in the state as a total disaster, that will come to an end next year.

He said, “There is no man who remains in power in perpetuity. The bible records that, riches are not forever neither does the crown endures to all generations, that means that PDP in Delta will come to an end one day, but I want to put you on notice that it’s coming to an end next year. The signs are there and even the blind know that we are taking over this state next year.

“The bible says a house divided against itself cannot stand. Can PDP stand against the word of God? Okowa is my colleague, his administration is an unbequeathed disaster. God has a way of bringing a bad thing to an end. Let me put you on notice, more persons are joining us after now.”

Speaking in the same vein, Delta Central Chairman of the APC, Chief Paulinus Akpeki, said the governorship election in the state is a forgone victory for the APC, alleging that the PDP in the Delta State does not have a governorship candidate.

He said, “it is the same people that put Okowa there that are saying we don’t want PDP. I can tell you, the Senatorial election for Delta South is gone, the governorship election is gone because they have no candidate for governor and no candidate for South.

“We are not going to probe them, so they should not fear but let them just quietly park their loads and start going. We will not probe all the certificate forgers, but let them just go. We in APC, we don’t have forgers because we took our time to gather our people together.”

Speaking further, Akpeki described the governorship candidate of the APC, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege as a man without blemish, adding that he is the battle axe of the party that will end the reign of PDP in the state.

He also extols Chief Sobotie, describing him as one that has all the political acumen to lead the party to victory, assuring him of their continuous support.
