The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta State has vowed to bring to an end the long reign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state in next year’s general elections.
PDP has been at the helm of affairs in the oil-rich state since the return of democracy in 1999.
The chairman of the APC, the main opposition party in the state, Omeni Sobotie, boasted in Asaba that the long years of the PDP would be brought to end in 2023.
Sobotie, in a brief chat with newsmen, insisted that the APC was now focused and more united to dislodge the behemoth PDP.
Making reference to the unresolved legal issues of the PDP governorship candidacy, Sobotie said the ruling party in the state was presently a divided house.

“There is no man who remains in power in perpetuity. The Bible reckons that riches are not forever nor does a crown endures to all generations.
“That means that PDP reign in Delta will come to an end one day. But I want to put you on notice that it is coming to an end next year, and the signs are there.
“And even the blind know that we are taking over this state next year. The Bible says the house divided against itself cannot stand. Can PDP defy the word of God? God has a way of bringing a bad thing to an end,” he said.
Describing the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as an unmitigated disaster, Sobotie disclosed that APC would welcome a lot of people, including PDP members into the APC fold.
He insisted that the APC has fully reconciled all aggrieved members to make the party stronger and win the 2023 general elections.
