Udom receives best economic blueprint award, lauds media group in A’Ibom

Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel has received the 2022 African Regional Magazine award of the sub-national governor with the best economic blueprint in Africa.

The award given to Udom during the 2022 African Regional Forum and Trade Fair held in Angola last year was later presented to him at the Executive Chambers, Government House, Uyo on Tuesday as the state emerged as the most progressive sub-nation in Africa.

Our Correspondent gathered that the Special Assistant to Udom on Research and Documentation Hon Essien Ndueso received the award for the Governor in Angola before it was re-presented to him.

Receiving the awards, Governor Emmanuel appreciated Continental Media Organization and the organizers of the award for observing the efforts of Akwa Ibom state government on strategic economic development in the past years.

While Presenting the awards to the governor, Ndueso conveyed the sentiments of Nigeria’s Ambassador to Angola, Professor Monique Ekpong who read the citation of the governor before the award in Angola.

He said Ekpong expressed great pleasure to identify with the accomplishments of Governor Udom which, she said, have made the State one of Africa’s best destinations.

He said the Envoy attested to being a first-hand witness to the achievements of Udom-led government in Akwa Ibom State and urged other subnational leaders in Africa to emulate the gesture.

Governor Emmanuel later dedicated the award to officials of his government and the people of the state who have helped in various ways to drive the government to succeed.

In a related development, Governor Emmanuel received a publication on his achievements from the Association of Eket Senatorial District Media Practitioners titled “The Scorecard” and expressed gratitude to the association for the ingenuity and painstakingly showcasing government’s imprints in the state.

He described the publication as pro-development and a strong encouragement to his administration.
