A new study has revealed that some of the world’s highest-paying Remote Jobs are increasingly being assisted by artificial intelligence, with professionals still earning six-figure salaries despite AI handling significant portions of their workload.

Key Highlights:
Software developers earn an average of $133,000 annually while AI assists with 63% of tasks
Computer and information research scientists top the salary chart at $140,900 per year
Business intelligence analysts rank second in AI-assisted workload
Financial analysts and cybersecurity professionals remain among the highest-paid remote workers
Personal financial advisors rank lowest among six-figure remote jobs but can still automate nearly half of their workload
Experts say AI skills are boosting salaries rather than replacing workers

The findings come from a May 2026 report by digital business card provider Wave Connect, which examined how artificial intelligence is reshaping high-income remote careers.

The study analyzed 974 occupations listed in the Anthropic Economic Index dataset and focused on work-from-home professions with annual earnings exceeding $100,000.
Researchers assessed how many job tasks could be fully automated by AI and how many could be accelerated with AI assistance.

After comparing the results with median salary data from the United States Department of Labor, the study ranked occupations based on the degree to which AI influences their workloads.

Software Developers Lead the Pack

Software developers emerged as the top profession where AI has the greatest impact. According to the study, artificial intelligence can assist with 63 percent of software development tasks, including data storage, software modification, and mathematical modeling.

Despite this growing automation, developers continue to earn an average annual salary of $133,000, making the role one of the most lucrative remote careers.

Business Intelligence Analysts Benefit from AI Boom

Business intelligence analysts ranked second, with AI capable of assisting with 59 percent of their workload.

The report found that AI is particularly useful for collecting and analyzing large volumes of information from industry reports, public databases, and commercial data sources. Professionals in the field earn an average salary of $108,900 annually.

Search Marketing Strategists Secure Third Position
Search marketing strategists placed third on the list. While approximately 39 percent of their work can be automated or accelerated through AI tools, they still command average salaries of $108,900 annually.

The study noted that web application development and coding-related tasks are among the areas most affected by AI integration.

Quality Assurance Engineers See Growing Automation

Software quality assurance engineers ranked fourth, with AI helping reduce workloads through automated testing, script updates, and debugging procedures.
Despite these efficiencies, professionals in the field continue to earn six-figure salaries averaging $108,900 annually.

Financial Analysts Round Out the Top Five

Financial analysts completed the top five ranking, with AI capable of assisting in 39 percent of their responsibilities.
Tasks such as preparing reports on industries, corporations, and economic trends are increasingly being handled by artificial intelligence, allowing analysts to focus on strategic decision-making and interpretation.

AI Skills Increasing Worker Value

Commenting on the findings, Wave Connect Founder and CEO George El-Hage said professionals who understand how to use AI effectively are becoming more valuable in the workplace.
According to him, workers with AI-related skills now earn significantly more than peers in similar positions who lack experience with artificial intelligence tools.

He noted that the most successful professionals are those who can delegate repetitive tasks to AI, verify results, and focus on judgment-based responsibilities that machines cannot easily replicate.

The report suggests that rather than eliminating jobs, artificial intelligence is increasingly transforming the nature of work, allowing skilled professionals to improve productivity while maintaining strong earning potential in the growing remote work economy.
