African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has congratulated Spain on winning the 2026 FIFA World Cup, boasting that the victory over Argentina is a sign of what he believes will happen to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
Sowore made the remark in a post on his verified X account, shortly after Spain defeated defending champions Argentina 1-0 after extra time to win the World Cup on Sunday.
The victory earned Spain its second FIFA World Cup title, 16 years after lifting its first trophy at the 2010 tournament in South Africa.
Reacting to the result, Sowore said the outcome matched his earlier prediction and compared Spain’s triumph to what he expects in Nigeria’s next presidential election.

“It happened as I predicted it. The World Cup final I foretold… came to pass. Spain defeats Argentina.
“The same way we will defeat Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Congrats, Spain,” he wrote.
Sowore, a longtime critic of the Tinubu administration, is widely expected to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the African Action Congress (AAC).
His comments come as political activities ahead of the 2027 polls continue to gather momentum, with opposition parties stepping up efforts to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
