President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Saturday for an official visit to France, Kenya and Rwanda, as part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga on Saturday, the president’s first stop will be France before proceeding to Nairobi to participate in the Africa-France Summit scheduled for May 11 and 12.
The summit, co-hosted by Emmanuel Macron and William Ruto, will focus on key issues including energy transition, green industrialisation, digital transformation, climate action and reforms in global financing systems.

It has the theme: “Africa Forward: Africa-France Partnerships for Innovation and Growth.”
The Presidency said Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to deepening cooperation with African nations and France, particularly in areas of economic transformation, infrastructure development, youth empowerment and peace-building.
After the summit, the president will travel to Kigali for the Africa CEO Forum slated for May 14 to 15.
The forum with the theme: “Scale or Fail,” is expected to attract over 2,000 business leaders, investors and policymakers, and is being organised in partnership with the International Finance Corporation.
At both engagements, Tinubu is expected to showcase his administration’s economic reforms and position Nigeria as a prime destination for investment, while also holding high-level meetings with African and global business leaders.
The president will be accompanied by key ministers and senior aides, and is expected to return to Nigeria after concluding the Rwanda leg of the trip.
