President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu have congratulated Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, for her victory at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Tems won the award for Best African Music Performance with her song ‘Love Me JeJe’, making her the first Nigerian artist in this category to achieve this honour.
In a statement shared on their respective social media handles, Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu expressed pride in Tems’ accomplishments, highlighting the inspiration her success provides to all Nigerians.
Tinubu wrote: “Congratulations to @temsbaby on winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, ‘Love me jeje’. I am proud of her accomplishments and those of Nigerian origin who were nominated for the Grammy awards. Their achievements continue to inspire all Nigerians. Congratulations!”
Gov. Sanwo-Olu also offered his heartfelt congratulations, praising Tems for her exceptional talent and dedication.
