President Bola Tinubu has officially secured the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections, after recording a landslide victory in the party’s nationwide primary election, polling a total of 10.9 million votes.
The announcement was made on Sunday in Abujaz by former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim, who chaired the APC presidential primary election committee.
According to the committee, the primary election was conducted on Saturday, across Nigeria’s 8,809 wards and 774 local government areas, with party members participating in a direct voting process that spanned the entire country.
With the outcome, Tinubu has now been officially confirmed as the APC’s presidential flagbearer for the 2027 election, as the ruling party begins early preparations for its nationwide campaign ahead of the polls.
