Bayern Munich stand-in captain Thomas Muller scored an own goal to hand Bayer Leverkusen a vital draw at Allianz Arena.
In a game filled with chances for both sides, the visitors might well have walked away from the lions’ den with all three points had they taken one of their guilt-edged, golden opportunities as Gerardo Seonane’s side grew in confidence.
Bayern took the lead in the first half when defender Niklas Süle in the 18th minute put the league leaders ahead in a game that could have been the 20th Bundesliga win for the season.
But to the dismay of Bayern fans, who were expecting a second goal, Thomas Muller erroneously struck his own net in 36 minutes.

The dominant Bayern tried to put the team back on the lead but were held to a 1-1 draw by the resilient Leverkusen.
In the game, Bayern got 19 shots, with 5 on target and 8 blocked. Top position on the league table with 59 points from 25 games, they look forward to their next Bundesliga match at Rhein-Neckar-Arena with Hoffenheim.
