Prince Banabas Akporehe, a philantropist and estate developer, has entered the race for the Delta South Senatorial District seat, saying he is from the young vibrant generation that God has chosen to make the difference in the area The Trumpet gathered.
Speaking to newsmen at Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South local government area of Delta State, Akporehe said he is a grassroots politician accepted by and accessible to the people. According to him, his mission for the Delta South Senatorial District has been ordained by God towards the development of the area
He pledged to build on the long existing peace and unity of the Isoko, Itsekiri, Ijaw and part of Urhobo people in the senatorial district. Also, his ‘Head Start’ programme will be given priority among Akporehe’s developmental objectives and vision for the district Akporehe who is from Oyede in Isoko North local government area, noted that he is the last to join the race and likened his position to Jonah that God called but initially ran away. He maintained that he could not rest as he had sleepless nights to answer the call.

“I picked up the expression of interest form on the 8th February 2022 without knowing how to go about it, but today, God gave me direction and vision in the political contests, and i have submitted my form with acknowledgement”, he said.
Akporehe disclosed that he has consulted with ward chairmen and unit leaders of the area to make his intention known as a young aspirant full of expectation for the senatorial district.
He assured of equitable development of the eight local government areas of the Isoko, Ijaw and Itsekiri ethnic nationalities. He promised that the difficult terrain of the riverine areas will be redressed just as he will create development channels towards sustain[1]able development of the district.
Akporehe who owns Blue Baney Homes Limited, Pamela Erere Foundation (PEF) for the less privileged and other philanthropic bodies and activities also pledged to discuss directly with the people of the three senatorial district to know their challenges towards equitable development of the area.
He added that he would “form alliance” with other Delta senators to develop the state if he wins.
