Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar is reportedly prepared to take a significant pay cut to facilitate his return to Valencia this summer.
As per Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, the Nigerian international has agreed to a 30 percent reduction in his salary to persuade Real Sociedad to approve a loan deal with Los Che.
Sadiq, who had a brief loan period with Valencia during the latter half of last season, is eager to rejoin the club.
The 28-year-old was omitted from Real Sociedad’s 1-1 draw against Valencia in their La Liga opener last Saturday, intensifying rumours of a potential transfer.

His desire for more playing time has led him to advocate for the move ahead of Valencia’s upcoming match against Osasuna at the El Sadar Stadium.
Sadiq has fond memories of the venue, having scored an impressive back-heeled goal there in March, which was later awarded La Liga’s Goal of the Month.
That late strike in the 87th minute helped Valencia secure a 3-3 draw and was vital in their battle against relegation.
With less than two weeks remaining in the transfer window, Sadiq is hopeful of finalizing the move, which could enhance his chances of being recalled to the Super Eagles squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Rwanda in September.
