Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday formally received Governor Ahmadu Fintiri into the All Progressives Congress (APC), declaring him the party’s leader in Adamawa State.
The high-profile reception, held at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, drew a large crowd of party stakeholders, supporters from across the state’s political wards, and dignitaries from within and outside the Federal Capital Territory.
Shettima described Gov. Fintiri’s defection as a major political boost for the APC, noting that it would strengthen the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He added that the move aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Tinubu.
In his remarks, Gov. Fintiri expressed appreciation to the Vice President and party leaders for the reception, while thanking the people of Adamawa State for their continued support.
He pledged to remain committed to delivering good governance until the end of his tenure on May 29, 2027.
