NUJ Energy group set for UN World Ocean Day

A group known as Energy & Maritime Reporters Corp (EMR), a wing of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), is set to join the global maritime community to mark the UN World Oceans Day to hold on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. EMR is a group in the NUJ that focuses on Energy and Maritime issues around Nigeria.

The theme for 2022 is: ‘Revitalization & Collective Action for the Ocean’. The event will hold at the Conference Hall of the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre (NUJ House), Moscow Road, in Port Harcourt by 10.30 am prompt. The Trumpet Gathered

Lectures and speeches concerning the wealth in the Ocean and challenges of the Maritime sector would come from notable personalities such as Dr Emi Membere-Otaji (Chairman/CEO, Elschon Nigeria Ltd); Dr Jossy Nkwocha (Corporate Affairs Manager, Indorama Nigeria); Solari Inko-Taria, UN Focal Person on Ocean Literacy in Nigeria and Mr Fyneface D. Fyneface (Executive Director, YEAC), an environmental activist.

The event will be chaired by Chief/Sir Ernest Chinwo, General Manager of the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation, publishers of the Tide, while the Chief Host is Mr Stanley Jobs Stanley, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Rivers State Council.

Industry stakeholders and Journalists in the state are expected to grace the event.
