The 2027 FIBA AfroCan will be staged at the BK Arena, one of Africa’s leading indoor sporting venues, marking Rwanda’s first time hosting the continental basketball competition.
The qualification series for the tournament is scheduled to run from September 2026 through June 2027, with 12 national teams expected to secure places in the final competition.
Morocco will arrive in Kigali as the defending champions after winning the 2023 edition in Luanda, Angola.
Rwanda will also be among the teams seeking to challenge for the title after claiming the bronze medal at the last edition.
