RSA active funds rise in Q1 2022

Active funds in the Retirement Savings Account (RSA) within the age bracket of active pension contributors’ and categorised into different age brackets in ascending order, witnessed higher returns in the first quarter of 2022.

 A report of the National Pension Commission (PenCom) revealed that the average yearly rates on RSA funds I, II, III and V were 10.88 per cent, 10.29 per cent, 10.13 per cent and 9.13 per cent respectively.

 According to the report, the performance was higher than the average rate of returns, which earlier peaked at 9.21 per cent, 10.05 per cent, 9.95 per cent and 8.00 per cent, as recorded by the respective funds in Q4 2021.

 PenCom explained that the facts behind the performance of Q1 2022 and the higher performance of the RSA active funds in Q1 2022 were due to dividends recovered and appreciation in the respective funds during the first quarter spanning January, February and March 2022 when compared to the last quarter of 2021.
