Veteran Nollywood actor, Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has celebrated actress Joke Silva as she clocks 65, describing her as a cherished friend, colleague and younger sister.
RMD shared the birthday tribute on Instagram, reflecting on his more than four decades of friendship and professional relationship with Silva.
While celebrating the actress, the veteran actor also acknowledged the grief surrounding her birthday following the death of her husband, legendary actor Olu Jacobs, whom he referred to as the “love of your life”.
“Even as you mourn the love of your life, Uncle Jay, we are reminded of your life of grace, your dedication and your love of not just family, but your craft and your country,” RMD wrote.
RMD recalled how he had celebrated Silva since they first met more than 40 years ago, describing their longstanding relationship as one he deeply values.

“Ajokijoks, as only me, your Egbon, can call you, I celebrate you today as I have done since our paths crossed over 40 years ago. How time truly flies. What a joy it is to call you friend, baby sister and colleague,” he said.
The actor also praised Silva’s influence on Nigeria’s entertainment industry, highlighting her commitment to excellence and the impact she has made throughout her career.
“Your contribution to our industry, your commitment to excellence and the lives you have touched over the years are immeasurable,” he said.
He further commended her dedication to her family, acting career and the growth of Nigeria’s creative sector, saying it had been a privilege to witness her journey.
“You have given so much of yourself to your family, your craft and to the growth of our creative industry, and it is a privilege to witness and celebrate the woman you have become,” RMD added.
The veteran actor wished Silva peace, strength and fulfilment as she begins another year of her life.
“May this new chapter bring you strength, peace, joy and many more beautiful years. May you continue to walk in grace, surrounded by love, and may the years ahead be filled with all the beauty, fulfilment and blessings you deserve,” he wrote.
RMD concluded his message by reaffirming his affection for Silva and celebrating their enduring friendship.
“Today, and always, you are celebrated, cherished and honoured. Happy 65th birthday, my dear aburo.”
Silva’s birthday comes amid a period of mourning following the death of her husband, Olu Jacobs, who died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84.
