Rivers United, in a sensational comeback, defeated Dakkada FC on matchday 30 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, to maintain their 7 points lead over fellow Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) contenders Plateau United.

Rivers United, who disvirgined the chastity of the barren scoreline in the 20th minute through Chijioke Akuneto, started battling to render the game to parity after Edidiong Ezekiel scored a brace for the home side.

The visitors kept on pushing and never relented or drop their guards down until a late minute equaliser and a 90th-minute winner by Malachi Ohamuwe to seal the victory for the league leaders, who now soars on 64 points.

Meanwhile, Plateau United won in Jos after trouncing Enugu Rangers to an unresponded 4-0 defeat.

Plateau United, who are on the trail of Rivers United on the NPFL league table, bombarded the Flying Antelopes with two goals in the first half, thanks to Mohammed Zulkifilu’s brace.
