Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Imo state chapter, Rev. Divine Eche has faulted the inability of the Super Eagles to qualify for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup on the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick.
Eche, a former chaplain of the national senior men’s football team, lamented over the refusal of Amaju to prepare the team spiritually for the second leg playoff with the Black Stars of Ghana despite his insistence.
According to the Reverend, the inability of the Super Eagles to qualify for the world football event in Qatar can be traced to the leadership of the country’s football governing body led by Amaju.
He described Amaju to have achieved a lot for himself but deficient in seeking tangible advice due to his ego.
According to Ghana Soccernet, ”The reason for our inability to qualify can be traced to the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, especially the President, Amaju Pinnick,” Eche said.

He continued: “But these successes got into his head that he seemed like the overall and that is why he cannot listen to advice.
”He wants to do whatever that is in his head and mind at all times. I know a few times, I’ve reached out to him to see what we can do to provide spiritual assistance to the team,” he added.
