Police in Yobe State has frowned at the conduct of politicians, who are disregarding the campaign guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It was gathered that some politicians in the State are currently engaging in political campaigns systematically, which is against INEC’s guidelines.
Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Haruna G. Garba has, therefore, set up a team to monitor the activities of politicians, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, spokesperson of the Command said in a statement on Thursday.

Abdulkarim said some leaders of political parties in the state hide under the cover of ”thank you visit” to delegates on their nomination during the just concluded party primaries, to commence political activities in utter disregard to INEC regulations and guidelines on electioneering campaign.
“Consequently, the Yobe State Police Command wish to warn leaders of all political parties in the state to desist from this ignoble practice as the command will not hesitate to deal with anyone caught flouting Electoral Act 2022.
“To this end, the Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna G. Garba, psc has emplaced all the Command’s assets to monitor the activities of political parties and deal with the violators.
“The Command wishes to assure the general public of hitch free and transparent 2023 General Elections,” he said.
