The Adamawa State Police Command has intensified security operations across Yola, Jimeta, and surrounding communities following growing concerns over the activities of suspected “Shilla Boys” in parts of the state capital.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the Command had taken note of reports circulating on social media alleging increased criminal activities linked to the group.
The Command reassured residents that security deployments and operational strategies across the state remain active and uncompromised, stressing that adequate personnel and tactical assets have been deployed to prevent crime and maintain public safety.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan, psc(+), has directed intensified day and night patrols, stop-and-search operations, and enhanced monitoring of identified black spots within the affected areas.
The CP also ordered Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the affected jurisdictions to strengthen visibility policing, improve intelligence gathering, and sustain coordinated operations aimed at apprehending criminal elements terrorising residents.

“The ongoing operations are specifically targeted at identifying, arresting, and prosecuting offenders responsible for acts of violence, robbery, and public disturbance,” the statement noted.
The Police Command warned criminal elements to desist from unlawful activities or face the full weight of the law.
Residents were as well urged to remain calm, avoid spreading panic, and continue supporting security agencies with credible and timely information through the nearest police station or designated emergency lines.
