Police in Sokoto embark on shooting range exercise

Sokoto State Police Command has alerted residents that it would embark on a shooting range exercise as part of training to equip officers with required knowledge and expertise to tame criminal elements.

DSP Sanusi Abubakar, Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, made the public notice at the weekend, saying the exercise shall commence from Monday, June 13, 2022.

Abubakar urged members of the public not to panic during the exercise, and solicited for their support and cooperation while assuring them that the police is commitment to sustaining peace in the state.

He said, “Sokoto State Police Command wishes to inform all residents in the state that the command will embark on a shooting range exercise from Monday, 13/06/2022 to Friday, 18/06/2022 between 0600hrs and 1800hrs at the Army range ground along Kware-Illelah road.

“In view of this, the command uses this medium to notify all and sundry to stay away and should not panic, especially residents in the following villages: Gidan Yamma, Mashedi, and Tsire villages along the Kware-Illelah road.

“While reiterating our commitment to sustaining peace in the state, we call on members of the public to cooperate with the police in this gesture.”
