Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has identified and arrested an officer involved in secret cult activities in a video that has gone viral in the social media.
The Officer, Corporal Matthew Isaac, who is attached to the Ebonyi State Police Command, was caught in the said viral video singing, dancing, and brandishing a rifle in praise of a particular confraternity.
A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Saturday confirmed the arrest while adding that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba condemned the unruly conduct of the police officer and ordered disciplinary actions.
The statement further said that the act of the officer, which was meant to portray the NPF in a bad light, contravenes First Schedule to Regulation 370 of the Police Regulations and NPF Social Media Policy (SMP).
“The act of the officer in question, which is clearly calculated to portray the NPF negatively, is a discreditable conduct in line with the provisions of the First Schedule to Regulation 370 of the Police Regulations.
