President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday has said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which happens to be the main opposition party in Nigeria is synchronous to failure.
Buhari in an exclusive interview on Channels Television said that anytime he comes across the acronym “PDP” what comes to mind is failure noting that the party during its rein almost crumbled the nation in all areas of governance.
“Whenever I hear the word PDP, what comes to mind is failure”, he said.
Meanwhile, the President has lashed at Nigerian youths who go to school with the expectation of being provided jobs by the government.
Buhari noted that such a mentality infused into the Nigerian system by the colonial masters is not feasible in the present day Nigeria adding that the era such practices were accommodated was to encourage Nigerians to have the affinity for education.
Clarifying the importance of education, he outlined a clear distinction between an educated and an uneducated youth stressing that education helps one to easily identify and solve personal problems.
“When they go to school, when they work hard, when they have a degree, they don’t do it thinking government must give them a job.
“You get educated because an educated person is certainly better than an uneducated one. Even in identifying personal problems.
“So, education is not just to hang on to the government to give you job and what the colonials indoctrinated on – to have a car, to have a house, and to start work at 8 O’Clock and close at 2 O’Clock,” he added.
