Supporters Defend Pastor
Defending the pastor, media personality Nkemakolam, whose X handle is @shyprecious, urged Nigerians to allow people to move on with their lives after losing a marriage.
In a post on X, she wrote: “Please allow people remarry. Forever is a long time to stay alone cause the first marriage didn’t work out.”
“Pastors are humans. They aren’t Jesus who’s perfect.”
Nkemakolam also criticised those attacking Odukoya, describing their reactions as selective hypocrisy. “You selective hypocrites!!!!” she added.
Critics Raise Concerns
However, some Nigerians expressed disappointment over aspects of the pastor’s remarriage, including his appearance and that of his new wife.
A data analyst, Adebanji, said he was uncomfortable with the couple’s choice of accessories after watching videos and photographs from the church service.

He explained that he noticed Odukoya wearing an earring, while his wife had a nose ring, adding that he does not believe their appearance reflects the standards expected of Christian ministers.
“As a Christian, this does not go down well with me. I also feel God is not pleased either. What message are they sending to the Christian community? I am disappointed,” Adebanji added.

He wrote: “A pastor divorcing and remarrying when the partner is still alive? Which book are these churches practicing with? Or is there a Bible 2.0?”
Meanwhile, media personality @DanielWhalee reflected on the marital experiences of the children of the late Pastor Bimbo Odukoya.
He recalled that the late preacher dedicated herself to Christian ministry, particularly teachings and counselling on relationships, singles and married couples.
However, he noted that two of her children have experienced divorce, with one reportedly remarrying while the other remains unmarried.
In his post, Whalee wrote: “For a woman that dedicated herself to the christian ministry of singles and married. Two of her children are divorced. One just remarried. The other remains unmarried. This life no balance. Just pray for grace.”
