Imo State immediate past Governor and Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Senator Rochas Okorocha has indicated his interest to join the 2023 presidential race.
His intentions were made known on Wednesday through a letter he sent to Senate President Ahmad Lawan, which was read at the commencement of plenary.

Okorocha has also slated a press conference for Wednesday next week, where he will elaborate on his ambition and modalities.
By this move, the former Imo State Governor has joined Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu on the race for the number one citizen of the country from the Southeast in the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Southeast now has three presidential aspirants under the APC platform, and only Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who has made his intention known to the President, Muhammadu Buhari, from the Southwest.
