The Ogun State Police Command has expressed alarm over a notable surge in reports of missing persons.
Chief Superintendent of police, Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the command, detailed that this increase spans all age groups and is unprecedented.
Unfortunately, a limited number of those reported missing have been located, with many not returning home.
Addressing this alarming trend, Odutola urged residents to stay vigilant and prioritize their safety. She emphasized that the police is committed to raising public awareness and fostering a community-oriented approach to enhance security.

“The Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has outlined essential measures and guidelines to keep residents informed about the most pressing issues.
“Based on insights from individuals who were rescued, the commissioner advises parents not to allow their children to use commercial transportation services with strangers.
“Additionally, he encourages restless youth to activate the digital communication and sharing features on their mobile devices, especially when traveling or in moments of distress,” Odutola said.
