Abia Warriors defeated Shooting Stars Sports Club on MatchDay 15 after going four games without a win in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The Abia Warriors took the lead in the 2nd minute through Bello Lukman but had it cancelled in the extra minute of the first half by Gafar Olafimihan’s spot-kick caused by Markson Ojobo’s foul in the 18-yard box.
With the growing anxiety that the game was going to end in parity, Kalu Nweke came in as a substitute to hand the home team a 2-1 win in the 74th minute.
This came as a great comfort to the coaching crew and the fans of the Abia Warriors at the Okigwe Township Stadium.
