The Assistant Commandant-General (ACG) of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Zone K, Awka, ACG Felix Oke, has ordered Commands’ under the zone to embark on massive gathering of credible intelligence to curb the activities of criminal elements within the zone.
Oke gave the order during his weekly security briefing at the Zonal Command Headquarters in Awka while condemning in strong terms the breakdown of law and order witnessed in Anambra State in recent times.
The ACG, who described the situation as appalling, called on the State Commandants of Anambra and Enugu to strengthen the Intelligence gathering mechanisms in their areas of responsibility aimed at fishing out the perpetrators of crime in the State. The Trumpet Gathered
He advised officers and men of the NSCDC to be security conscious and professional in the discharge of their duties, noting that they are being monitored.

He warned that anyone found behaving contrary to laid down rules of the Service will bear the consequences of his action.
ACG Oke reaffirmed the commitment of the Zonal Command to deliver on the Corps mandate in the Protection of Government Critical National Assets and Infrastructure and security of lives and property of the people of Anambra and the entire Southeast at all times.
He, however, praised the Honourable Minister of Interior on the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), and the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr Abubakar Audi for releasing the results of the Senior Promotion Examinations describing it as a morale booster to officers and men.
The ACG further reminded the public of the need to support NSCDC through the provision of useful information that would help in the detection and fight against crime and criminality within the Zone.
