Abdul Maikaba has praised Enugu Rangers over their performance against Nigeria Professional Football (NPFL) League leaders Rivers United but felt unhappy with the outcome of the result which ended goalless at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Awka.
Maikaba, who is the head coach of Enugu Rangers that presently contend with Enyimba of Aba and Remo Stars for the third place with 1-2 points discrepancies, lamented that the result did not reflect his team’s performance on the pitch.
He conceded that despite the result being unappealing to him, the Flying Antelope will continue to work hard to fight for a continental spot on the NPFL table. The Trumpet Gathered
“It was a very good display by my players but we did not get the result we actually worked for,” Maikaba said post-match.
“I am a bit disappointed not in my players but with the result we could not get.

“We will keep fighting until the very last match of the season to ensure that we achieve our target,” he assured.
Meanwhile, Rivers United have been pleased with the outcome which edges them closer to the NPFL season triumph than envisaged.
The Pride of Rivers top the log with 11 points ahead of close contender Plateau United in second place but with two more wins by coach Stanley Eguma in the remaining four games, the rivalry for the NPFL 2021-22 trophy would have been allayed.
